Anne Harkonen, Evanston 17th April 2011

April 11, 2011 Ann was a good friend for many years. She was bright, kind, thoughtful and tuned in to the needs of others. I remember a time when one of my teenage sons decided that living at the de Brauw's was better than living at home. Ann took him in for a few days. Sometimes it "takes a village." One way that Ann and I kept in touch was by making birthday dates. She would take me out for lunch in January; I would take her out for lunch in June. These last couple of years have been very difficult, but I hope I helped in some small way. I miss her. ~
