From Hiroko and Tsuyoshi Horiguchi 4/23/11 24th April 2011

Dear Ann, Ann! You are our such good friend, even much more than good friend, and we think of you as our sister or one of the members of our family. It was September, l972 at Mill Street Apartment we met you and Chris as our new neighber. Since then, we were very close at the time we had Tohru, and you had Alan and Michael, as we had already Yuko. We had wonderful time together going apple picking, lakeside picnic with BBQ, Birthday party, Christmas holiday, and also everyday talking and playing with children. Ann helped us with many problems as foreigners and introduced cultures of America and Europe. Ann taughed me how to express in writing and talking. I learned many cooking and customs from her. Those are our special treat for our daily Japanese life now. All of Ann and Chris with children are our treasure!! Ann was a lady of inteligence and thoughtfulness with brave and proper judgment, we were relieved. After 3 years, we came back to Japan, we exchanged letters and photos and later e-mails to share our daily life and children's growth. You were strict as you were, but I know you had charming and girlish nature in your mind. That showed us what you selected Christmas gifts for us. They were always cute and full with sense of humor. I received your e-mail maybe 3 years ago telling "Chris is wonderful!" I am sure that you were so grateful to Chris as your beloved husband. Yes, you made such wonderful family with wonderful children. My visiting Ann last September was so nice and precious for us and I will never forget that pleasant 3 days stay in Galena and Evanston. I am so proud of having such precious friend like you and also being good friend with you for such a long time. But as the time we were all ready to be grandmother (father), we would like to share about the news of our grandchildren. Ann, you are in our mind for ever!!! Love, Hiroko and Tsuyoshi
